I know every instructor thinks they have great students. Indeed, I have seen several of my fellow instructors comment that they have the best students in the world.
I mean them no disrespect, but I must inform them that they are wrong.
*I* have the best.
Tonight, my students presented me with a beautiful gift.
In this picture, all you can see is a reddish background leaving outlines of four Kanji characters. I freely admit that I had to ask what it said, and they told me, "It's the Art of War."
If you look MUCH closer (not possible with this photo, sorry) you can see that the red background is actually very small print -- the entire text of the Sun Tzu's classic, "The Art of War." Something else you can't see in the picture is that they each signed the back of it.
The card at the bottom reads, "Presented to Master Clif Bullard, to convey our thanks. Kempo Class -- Memphis Martial Arts"
To my students: you guys are AWESOME!

Now I have to decide where to hang it -- whether to hang it at home or at the school, and then where within that place to hang it.

But I can't claim credit for that. This was THEIR awesomeness!

And the irony of it is, most of them would never understand that THEY are the real gift -- their dedication and their hard work that they give week after week.
