The weekend actually went pretty well, with a few glaring exceptions...
Friday, my younger step-sister had to have surgery to get her gall bladder removed, as well as several sizable gall stones. Stupid little twit does absolutely nothing to take care of herself, and it's starting to catch up with her -- at the ripe old age of 34.
We spent Saturday and Saturday night with that side of my family. My stepmother has fallen back into some of her old bad habits concerning menu selection (i.e. good luck finding vegetables, unless they're fried), but at least everything tasted good. 8-)
Apparently, my animal magnetism has gotten stronger -- to the point that a wasp tried to kiss me Saturday morning ::G::, and I got stung on my lower lip. Fortunately, a tea bag and lots of smooches from Rhi made it feel much better. 8-) Now it's to the point that I can't even tell it ever happened.
Oh, wait... Rhi reads this...
Man, I can't believe how much it still hurts, even after two days! I'm clearly going to need more kisses! 8-)
Saturday night we all sat around watching "TV's Funniest Game Show Moments" or something like that... and we were all howling with laughter and wiping tears from our eyes. Such wonderful examples of human genius as, "Name a month in which a woman begins to show pregnancy." "September"
You know it's getting bad when the host of the show is harassing the contestants about their answers....
"Name a time when people get out of bed... and you made the Einsteinian leap to... Morning."
I can actually understand those... the people are under pressure, and have to give an answer *quickly*.
It's the ones on the street who give answers like: "If you were standing in the Oval Office, what building would you be in?" "The Empire State Building"
Sheesh....
Sunday we drove into Memphis, and took my mother for a picnic in Overton Park. It was a little warm, but still pleasant. She had to meet with a client that afternoon, and we were both rather tired, so we came on back home. Rhi seems to have had some sort of allergic reaction, we're not sure to what, but it's acting like the stuff I had on my arms a few weeks ago... so we're giving it the same treatment.
So... definitely not what I would call an outstanding weekend, but it had it's good points, too.
And the preparations for Ni-dan testing continue...

Yup. Definitely an alka-seltzer weekend. Next time, 4.5 hour drive or no, I take fruit at least....
