Cyberattackers are exploiting the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto to spread malware, according to researchers at numerous anti-virus vendors.

Symantec Security Response researchers found that a search for “Pakistan prime minister assassination” led to a number of pages claiming to have video of the killing of Bhutto, who had returned from exile to again seek power.

The fake video displays what claims to be an ActiveX object error message, which infects PCs with a trojan, Vikram Thakur, Symantec Security Response researcher, said on a company blog.

Best meteor shower of 2008 tonight: Quadrantids

According to this article from Space.com, tonight may well be one of the best meteor showers of the entire year.

If it weren't supposed to be 20 degrees (-7 C) outside at that point, I might be tempted to see if I could get a few pictures. As it is, I think I'll wait for warmer weather. ::G::

Painting

We got the second coat of paint on the guest room walls tonight. Now we just need to let it dry, take off the painter's tape, put down more painter's tape, and paint the trim.

The walls are "Yacht Club Blue" (the one in the lower left), and the trim will be "Luster White."

There may eventually be pictures, I don't know yet.

I strongly recommend against installing any software provided by Sears as part of their My SHC Community on Sears.com until this report can be verified. Computer Associates is a reputable computer security company, so until someone shows me otherwise, I'm going to assume that it's true.

In a nutshell, the article says that if you install the software, all internet usage gets tracked: including email, banking logins, etc.
