Wow... I really haven't posted anything in quite a while, huh?
I'd feel worse about this, but things have been just a wee bit INSANE lately.
I had to spend four weeks out of the last 5 in Nashville for work... only to have stuff constantly pushed back, so that most of the reasons why I was in town for that week became irrelevant until at least the following week. Sheesh.
Last night, we went to the Haunted Corn Maze. We had fun in spite of the mud, although I have to admit that this year's maze design wasn't one of their better ones. At least this year they'd had enough rain that the corn was taller than my head! It really takes something away from a "haunted maze" when you can see over the top of the "walls" ::G::
Tonight, we went on a tour of historic local Elmwood Cemetery, with volunteers dressed up as some of the local "inhabitants" and telling their stories, explaining some of the symbolism seen on the grave markers, telling some of the history of the cemetery, etc. For example, I hadn't realized that Elmwood is the only cemetery in the country that has Generals from both sides of the US Civil War buried there.
Apparently tonight's tour was a much bigger success than expected. They started letting people in a few minutes past 5:00 p.m. It was just past 5:30 when we got in, and the line at that point was literally out of sight over the bridge leading onto the property. They finally told people they were "sold out" for the night. We left at 7:30, and they were just letting the last group in... so they probably got out somewhere between 9:30 and 10:00.
