CNN is running a story about a college student living in Corvallis, Oregon (about 70 miles south of Portland) whose flat screen TV was apparently emitting an international distress signal. It seems the signal got routed by satellite to the Air Force Rescue Center in Langley, VA, who sent police, civil air patrol, and search & rescue personnel to his apartment.
