This past weekend, I introduced my Memphis instructor to my Nashville instructor and to Grandmaster George Dillman, for the purpose of having our Memphis school become a DKI (Dillman Karate International) affiliate.
It went very well. Dillman seemed quite taken with our little group, and I think we made a respectable showing for ourselves at the seminar.
After dinner that night, the four of us sat down and talked -- Dillman, Cooper, Chase (Memphis instructor) and me.
Net result? Our school here is going to become a DKI Affiliate. If all goes well between now and then (and I have every reason to believe that it will) then this coming summer, Chase will be given a long-overdue rank promotion... and it will be back-dated a year!
Purely by coincidence... yours truly will also be promoted at that time! :-)
I'm proud to be getting my own promotion, but honestly, right now I'm just glad that things went well.
