, the remains of one of Captain Kidd's ships -- the Quedagh Merchant -- has been found off the coast of Catalina Island.

For a moment there I thought "What the hell was Captain Kidd doing off the coast of California??"
Then I looked at the article and remembered that while we here in L.A. refer to it as 'Catalina' the Island is properly known as 'Santa Catalina'.
Oops!
Great find, thanks for letting me know about it, I'll have to keep an ear out for more news on it.
