Those two players were playing to win. But when they carried her around the bases they showed that they were also playing for a higher ideal.

They played for love of the game.

Agreed... and just maybe realized that sometimes there are ways of winning that aren't measured on a scoreboard.

If I heard them correctly, their team ended the game with a lower score. But I challenge anyone to convince me there were *any* losers on that field that day.
