Good news -- they let my father go home today!
He has to come back in a week to let them check the levels of blood-thinner in his system, and he has to come back in a month to let them run scans on his heart, lungs, etc., but he's home now and back on full activity.
Yay!

That is -VERY- good to hear. May really sucked on a medical front. Thank heavens for his recovery.
