Smoky Mountains

Wow... I can't believe I've never been to the Smokies at this time of year before. I think I must have assumed that everybody and their brother would be here because of the Fall foliage -- and I was right -- but MAN, is it lovely up here!

Day 1 (yesterday) was beautiful beyond words. Everywhere you looked, Mother Nature was putting on her finest colors, with patchwork blazes of reds, yellows, oranges and even some greens. We took hundreds of pictures, but they cannot begin to do justice to the real thing.

Day 2 (today) was rainy and grey, but even that had it's moments, watching the clouds/fog/"smoke" drifting across the hillsides.

Tomorrow will be our last full day here, then we head back to Memphis on Thursday.

And tomorrow will be pretty damn cool, too, with rivulets and streams cropping up all over the mountains, judging on past experience!

Thanks for taking me here again, it's absolutely lovely, and soul-restoring. :-)
