We had a good kempo class tonight, although I must admit I was a bit surprised. Sensei Cooper, the school's head instructor, mentioned that he wants to get familiar with their forms ASAP so that I "can be on the same page" with his Shodan-ranked student, in terms of advancement. Essentially, he wants to put me on a *really* fast track to give me the information a Shodan in his school should have, and expects me to do it quickly enough to be ready to test for Nidan at the same time his "established" Shodan student takes her test. Now if I only knew when that was going to be....

On the other hand, I will have to admit that my stances and techniques are a *lot* sharper and crisper than hers are.

Still... it's going to mean a *lot* of work on my part, absorbing all of their information that quickly. For example, I have had two weeks of classes (I missed both nights last week), and have already been given 5 forms -- all but one of which I've evan managed to retain.

Guess who's going to be doing some *major* cramming in the next few weeks/months? But what the hell, there's some good information to be had, and even more to extract when I get down to actually *analyzing* the forms and "reading between the lines".

Glad to hear it. Sounds good. Keep us up to date on how you are doing with that. And good luck
