and counting.
I'm finding it somewhat amusing, watching the reactions I get from people when I tell them some of what's involved in this upcoming rank test for me.
Most of them can at least wrap their minds around the concept of me knocking someone out using only light touches. I actually had one person tonight ask me if I was going to do the Vulcan Neck Pinch on someone, and I wish I had a picture of the look in his eyes when I basically told him, "Been there, done that..."
The part that obviously caused him to go into total cranial shutdown was the concept of knocking someone out without physical contact... and yes, it is not only possible, but it is something that both of us who will be testing will be required to demonstrate.
What I get a chuckle out of are the folks who go all "fluffy-bunny" as soon as you start talking about some of the more esoteric aspects of chi/energy manipulation. I may be a lot of things, but "fluffy-bunny" definitely is *not* on that list! LOL
Oh, well... off to meditate a bit, then get some sleep.

Even if you can't *explain* it, any help in even *vaguely* understanding it would be appreciated.

However I can't even begin to wrap my mind around the image of you as a "fluffy-bunny." My mind is reeling, albeit laughing hysterically. ::grin::
Good luck with the rank test, brother.

As for the explanation behind how it works...
The human body runs on electricity. Every muscular contraction, every nerve, every synapse in the brain... it's all electrical.
When electricity flows through a conductor, it generates a magnetic field around that conductor... and you can generate an electric current by moving one magnetic field through another.
This isn't magic or hocus-pocus, or even Far Eastern Philosophy. This is basic electrical engineering.
With a bit of practice, you can learn to alter the flow of electricity in your body... increasing or decreasing the amount of 'current' in various places. In turn (and with a lot more practice :g:), this can be used to affect the energy flow in someone else's body... even though you never make physical contact.
For example, if I increase the amount of 'current' flowing in my hands, that will make a larger and stronger magnetic field around the conductors in my hands. Then, when I bring this increased magnetic field close enough to make it overlap the field around the conductors in someone else's body, it will induce a current. This is the same principle that a generator works on... and like with a generator, there are ways to control whether the current is induced in my conductors, or in theirs.
There are places on the body that are more susceptible to such manipulations, i.e. easier to induce current, like the places in the circuitry of your house where you can plug into an outlet. Also, inducing current into different "plug-ins" will affect different systems in the body. (So no, don't think that you're going to knock out your significant other with some affectionate petting/stroking. :S:)
Then there is the fact that the human brain can only process so many input signals at one time. Herein lies the key to knocking someone out using this method. If you consider each "plug-in" to be one input channel, and you give the brain more inputs than it can process, it responds by shutting down *all* inputs, in order to protect itself.
Thus concludes this session of "Energy Knockouts 101" :G:. There are a *lot* more things that you can use (including a variety of methods concerning elemental cycles of creation and destruction, yin/yang polarities, diurnal cycles, and more), but that takes a *lot* longer to explain!
