... on my LJ, at least. There's still a long list of other stuff I need to catch up on. Sorry if this is a bit jumpy and disjointed.
Radnor continues to be absolutely lovely, and becoming more so as Spring progresses. Each time I've been there, I've seen at least 11 deer, and on various occasions have also seen a beaver and an otter. The greenery is really starting to spread now, and the larkspur is doing a wonderful job of turning one of the hillsides purple. 8-)
I'm in the last few weeks of my third-to-last semester. Lots of reading, lots of papers to be written. Fortunately, my family heritage helps in this regard. My father and brother are both lawyers, and my mother and sister are both extremely successful in sales. Therefore, I am genetically predisposed to be able to sling bullshit like a pro! LOL
I'm still prepping for my 3rd-degree black belt test. I don't have a firm date for it yet, but I'm currently suspecting it will be early June. Part of what makes me think this is that I have just gotten an email from my instructor detailing a written assignment that will be part of this test, and it is due June 1.
And speaking of martial arts, I was on my way from work to the dojo the other day when some idiot decided that it was perfectly acceptable to make a left-hand turn across two lanes of traffic without bothering to check for oncoming cars first. I even managed to shift a full lane-width over in trying to avoid him, and he still hit me. My driver's-side front quarter panel is cracked, and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to need a new front fender.
I never thought I would have a need for a camera in my cell phone, but I was glad I had one that day. Before we moved the cars out of the traffic lanes, I got out and took a picture of them. Then when one of Nashville's Finest showed up to take the report, I told him what had happened, told him I even had a picture of it if he wanted to see it, and he said that he REALLY wished more people would do that!
And then, of course, there's helping a friend clean out a house and neaten up the yard so the house can be sold. I'm more than willing to help out, but really, dealing with the dead raccoon in the bedroom counts as Going Above And Beyond The Call.
And, I have another friend who got notified within the last 2 weeks that they have to be out of their place NLT 6/1, and I probably need to go help them, too....
And the start of this whole series was going down to MS and helping my father move one of our earliest-model deer stands: an 8' high pyramid of 2" steel pipes for a base, and a box framework of 1" square steel rods, with 1/2" plywood on all six sides of the box. We had to lay it on its side in order to replace the rotten plywood, and then it was so heavy that SIX of us (me, Rhi, three local boys, and my father) wouldn't have been able to get it back upright without the use of an ATV, some rope, and some Draconic cleverness. ::G::
So... something of a tired critter right now. Fortunately, there's light at the end of the tunnel. 8-)
