International Recommend-A-Movie Day. This means everyone should go to their LJ right now and tell their friends to watch a really good movie which most of them probably have not seen. And then tell more people to do it. Hopefully, we'll all have lots and lots of recommendations by the end of the day.

While I wholeheartedly agree with Rhi's recs of "Hopscotch" and "Undercover Blues," I have to add another all-time favorite: Blake Edwards' musical "Victor/Victoria," with Julie Andrews, James Garner, Robert Preston, and Leslie Ann Warren in 1930's Paris. I honestly don't think it is possible to watch this movie and not have a good time -- it's certainly not possible for me. I love Andrews' voice and Garner's *incredibly* expressive face, but in the end it is Preston who makes this film for me. I have never seen him in a role that I didn't absolutely love, from Carrol Todd to Prof. Harold Hill to Centauri.

Can't second this movie enough. It is fantastic and I must get it on DVD so I can watch it again SOON.

It is the ultimate have fun, feel good, laugh out loud, enjoy yourself movie, with excellent lines, acting and songs. It is such a good film.
