This was just way too much fun!

The maze pattern in Memphis was "American Gothic," or so we were told -- it was rather difficult to say from within the maze. ::G::

We did the Haunted version, which is the maze at night with various spooks throughout the maze. They did quite a good job, with everything from the Grim Reaper out front (who started jamming on his scythe like it was a guitar when the loudspeakers started playing Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper") to Killer Clowns From Outer Space to people who did a very good job of camouflaging themselves among the corn stalks, among others.

I must admit to a certain amount of amusement, both at myself and at one of the spooks we encountered. We ran into the killer from the Hallowe'en movies, and after we went past him, he started following us. He was walking very closely behind [livejournal.com profile] alysswolf, doing his best to loom over her from behind. This was at one of the points in the maze where we were sort of re-grouping, and Alysswolf caught back up with me just as the guy in the mask shifted his grip on his oversized knife. I just gave him one of those looks, and told him simply, "That would be inadvisable."

He looked at me, looked at her, looked back at me... and decided he didn't want to find out what I meant. ::G::

We've decided that next year, we're going to go back on Hallowe'en night -- and give candy to the monsters. ;-)
