Yesterday afternoon was the third visit to the acupuncturist. I felt like we had a better rapport than we did last week -- she was considerably more talkative, answering questions, etc.

I felt fine when she took the needles out, although I did feel a little tired. This time, she also spread some arnica on my shoulders and back (where most of the needles were), and I was still fine after that. When I got up to the front desk, however, I noticed that my jaw on the right side (right at the joint) was feeling a bit sore and stiff. By the time I was halfway to the errand I had to run on my way home, there was a definite headache forming across the front of my forehead.

I came home and took a nap. When I woke up, I had a bunch of crud in my throat -- fortunately, that cleared after 1-2 coughs. As of 5+ hours after the session I was feeling a bit stiff and sore, mostly through the torso. Still coughing a little bit of phlegm, too.

I'm also on some new herbs (the others ran out Monday). It's called "Ding Chuan Wan" from "Clear Mountain Air Teapills."

She also did something I've seen but never experienced before: cupping. This basically boils down to having suction cups placed on the surface of the skin. It is supposed to draw chi, blood, and impurities/toxins to the surface. I checked my back as we were getting ready to go to dinner last night, and the place where she cupped the right side isn't noticable, but the left side is a pretty dark bruise.

Overall, she seems pleasantly surprised at how quickly I'm progressing. She says that lung issues are among the slower ones to resolve, but I seem to be moving along very quickly. For example, she doesn't usually prescribed these herbs for most patients until after their second month oftreatments.
