Yep... 42. Which is how old I turned today.
I still don't have the answers to Life, the Universe, and Everything, but overall I think I'm doing reasonably well.
Here's what the last year has held for me:
* continued working my same job, but began doing it remotely.
* moved from Nashville to Memphis, and bought a house.
* started seeing an acupuncturist, and got rid of 90%+ of my asthma and allergy issues.
* spent a week in a cabin in the Smokies, and discovered that I prefer buildings that actually rest on the ground, rather than perching on stilts.
* started jogging again, and can currently jog one mile -- when we're not having temperatures of 113 degrees!
* got my weight back down below 200 pounds. Barely, but it is there.
* re-familiarized myself with all of the forms that are taught in our dojo.
* got promoted to 4th degree black belt.
* took over running the kempo school for the time being, because our head instructor is having replacement surgery done on both knees next month.
* At a martial arts seminar that I attended, I was approached by a group of people who'd attended a previous seminar of mine, who informed me that they had decided that it was *required* that I conduct another one for them. Unfortunately, the original arrangement fell through, but there may yet be a possible alternative.
* My team at work lost it's three senior-most members in a period of about 8 months, leaving me as the team lead. Promotion by erosion?
So all in all, a busy year, a full year, a somewhat stressful year... but I've had worse! ;-)
