I really should have thought to post this here sooner...
As many of you know, I have been involved in one type of martial arts or another
for 25 years now. As many of you may also know, I consider it to be the fervent
wish of every good teacher that his students take what he gives them, actually
think about it, make it their own... and take it places where he has not.
Such a thing has happened with one of my students, and now she and I are asking
for your input.
If you can spare 10 minutes, I would like to ask you to go to this URL:
http://sites.google.com/site/selfdefenseresearch/
Select the survey (or surveys) that most closely describe your background, and
fill it out.
What's going on, you ask?
Most martial arts instructors, self defense instructors, etc., teach their
classes based on a male mindset. That's fine for teaching male students, but it
makes things harder for female students -- many of whom need the training worse
than the men do.
We need your help to be better at what we do. Will you help us learn to provide
better service to the 50% of the population that we've been short-changing?
Thank you in advance.
And regardless of whether or not you fill out any of the surveys, PLEASE pass
the link on to anyone and everyone you think might be willing to participate!
