Happy Twos Day.
Tonight at 22 seconds past 10:22 pm, it will be 22:22:22 02/22/2022, on a Tuesday.
What does that mean? What significance does it have?
Absolutely nothing beyond whatever meaning or significance we choose to give it.
But humans seem to work well with things like this, so why not take advantage of it? What use might we make of such symbolism?
A long-standing one is the idea that we have two ears but one mouth, so maybe we should listen twice as much as we speak. Maybe take this opportunity to work on listening more?
Maybe you or someone you know has been locked into one side of a "binary equation" -- they're always the caretaker, never the one taken care of. They're always the follower, never the leader. They always work, never spending time in play. (or vice versa to any of these). What would help them (or you) get some of that balance back?
Or maybe there's a situation where most people expect binary but what is actually present is duality? This can be a very uncomfortable one for some people -- an especially common current example is pertaining to gender. For this particular topic, many people feel it is an exclusively binary set, but a significant portion of the population says that is not the case for their lives. What would help each side better understand the other?
You know, in almost every cosmology I've ever heard of, In The Beginning there was One-ness that was then divided. The first act of creation listed in the Christian Bible was when the Creator said, "Let there be light!" and separated the light and the darkness -- a binary division. But not matter how dark, there's always a TEENSY bit of light. And no matter how bright, there are still some shadows.
Eastern cosmology says that The One was divided into two, the Yin and the Yang. But the Yin still has a seed of Yang at its core, and vice versa.
Maybe we can use this "Twos Day" as a reminder to acknowledge that seed of "otherness" in ourselves, or at least to work to understand it? Maybe even to work towards bringing things back to Oneness?
Heaven knows our world could use a LOT of that right now!
