Yet more interesting things going on at work...

I found out today that yesterday morning must have been a real roller-coaster for my former Group Lead, David. It seems that early that morning, our manager had been talking with David, and told him that if he was interested, she would start the paperwork to make him a full-time employee, not just a contractor. Later that morning, she got informed that he was being terminated.

Unfortunately, someone has decided to try to "get back at" the person David *thinks* filed the complaint against him. He got a very nasty phone call this morning, cursing him out.

And the manager said in a meeting this morning that "she knows who did what" re: David's termination... whether she actually knows who filed the complaint(s), or was bluffing to try and get the person(s) involved to make some comment, I don't know.

...and yesterday one of David's cronies made a comment to the effect that he was going to find out who'd gotten David fired, and "squash that bug".

So much for their Non-Retaliation Policy...

Perhaps time for some open and obvious support for the people being targeted by this hate? If some of the american and friendly people start to show openly that they will not tolerate this behaviour the scum will think twice about 'retaliating'?

{{hugs}}

And, perhaps someone should report all this, too? Not much they can do about the phone call from outside, but the comments from David's crony should sure as hell be actionable. And I'm damned sure that the manager *shouldn't* know who did what, for sure; but as you said, she may just have been bluffing about that...

{{hugs}}, though, and here's hoping it settles down into a reasonable place to work soon!!
