"December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of American was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan." -- Franklin D. Roosevelt

Today marks the 65th anniversary of that infamous date. Unpleasant though the events of that day might be, they should not be allowed to "go gently into that good night" from the consciousness of the people. Rather let them be remembered with proper solemnity, and if such remembrance pains us, it is nothing to the pain in this day's ghosts. Let us ease their pain by doing all that we can to be sure that such a day never comes again, for any one.
