Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] gryphonrhi: Comment and I will give you 3 interests on your list, and 3 icons, for you to explain in the comments. You can also ask about 3 of my listed interests and 3 icons. (Okay, so I've only got 6 icons, and really only use 4 of them...)

I haven't posted any interests, but if you want to go at my icons, go ahead. :)

I'm curious about "chaos" and "peacock blue" of your icons. I won't pick interests as I don't have any.

"Peacock Blue" is one that almost never gets used, honestly. I don't even remember now what significance I originally attributed to him when I made that one several years ago, but he seems extremely self-satisfied and preening. It's a photo I took of a dragon figurine I own, and although it doesn't show up very well at that scale, he's also got a thumbnail-sized piece of moonstone cradled down by his feet.

"Chaos" is actually fairly self-descriptive. I use that one for when things are getting particularly chaotic -- which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it can certainly be demanding!

From yours... oroboros, rapture, and golden dragon. 8-)

LOL you and Rhi both asked about Oroboros -- the serpent who swallows his own tail. It symbolizes eternal cycles, the end is the beginning is the end. I like it for timeless truths, the mystical wholeness of the universe, and things that just ARE.

Rapture -- "The Rapture is NOT an exit strategy." I found this slogan on a liberal t-shirt website, and Sundara turned it into an icon for me. Some believers in the Rapture think that, a) it's coming soon, b) the worsening of life on earth (wars, the environment, etc) will hasten it, and c) all that's a good thing. This leads to a sort of acceptance of poor strategy, or things like getting into unwinnable wars, because it doesn't matter anyway, the Rapture is coming. Needless to say, it's not a way out of the middle eastern mess.

Golden Dragon -- a detail of a larger dragon print by contemporary Japanese artist Hajimi Namiki. The full image can be found here: http://www.castlefinearts.com/fs_biography.aspx?page=/Japanese_fine_arts_woodblock_prints/Hajime_Namiki_Biography.aspx scroll to Dragon 7A. For a blue version, see Dragon 7B. I like him because he seems so happy -- a genunely delighted lizard. He seems to exemplify the preposition that "life is a blast!"

That's the problem I had with this meme, too - I don't have any interests listed. But I am also interested in the 'Chaos' icon, and the 'Success' one, too. More a case of why pick those two.

Both of them can cover a variety of things -- and that's part of why I picked them! I mean, when you've only got 6 icons to work with, ya need some versatility! ::G::

"Chaos" is one that I use when things are getting particularly crazy. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and if you play your cards right, you can end up with results far beyond what you'd ever expected! Not to mention that if you can manage to keep your head in the right place, you can find an amazing beauty among chaos.

The main thing that I use "Success" for is as a sort of "High-Five," or to say "I/we/you/they done good!" Or, to put it into SouthernSpeak, it's a way of saying, "Hell, yeah!" ::G::

As for yours... the ones labeled "snowflake," "cat," and ... either/both of the other two! LOL
