New Arrival

Born this afternoon to my little sister Mel and her husband Mike, Anna Kate came into the world at 7 lbs 6 oz, and 19" long. She wasn't willing to wait for her expected arrival date of Oct 11, but her impatience doesn't seem to have negatively affected either her or her mother's health. Mama's being held in recovery for 30 mins to an hour because her legs are numb, but everyone is fine otherwise.

Little one, you will face many challenges as you make your way in this world. Possibly the greatest of these will be your own family. May you find the wisdom to take from each of us only those things which will benefit you, and the courage follow your heart and your dreams as far as your abilities will take you.

(Mind you, if she wouldn't wait until October 11th, and my Little One does the same, that would mean I only have three weeks to go. Gulp. Six weeks until Estimated Due Date seemed bad enough - plus the two I expect to go over. But *three?!* ::whimper:: LOL)
