I've seen web pages with photos set up a particular way, and I'd like to do something similar.

What I'm trying to duplicate is the sites where you have a row of thumbnail-sized photos, and if you click on one of them, a full-sized version appears in a designated spot on the same page. Click another thumbnail, and the previous full-sized image is replaced with the new one.

Can anyone point me at information on how to do this?

I have made a new site for posting about seminars or other things related to my martial arts teaching "stuff". Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

And now, I'm off to catch a plane to NY to teach a seminar!

Losing my host

I found out yesterday that the host for my website, http://www.k2labs.org/kungfusion, will be going away. Or more accurately, the fellow who's been paying for the domain is dropping it, and I don't feel like shelling out the $$$ to keep it myself.

A pity, but I can understand it. As he put it, the spirit that made K2Labs has gone since the team was broken up by our mutual former employer. You see, K2Labs was the self-chosen name for the department I was in at USPS, and the manager even went ahead and made that the official department name. The department eventually grew to almost double its original size, only to have the entire original team fired in the same morning.

Oh, well.

Maybe I'll see about setting the site back up at the same host Rhiannon uses, but I haven't really given it much thought yet. In the meantime, I think I'm going to sleep on it.

Page ponderings

Things are coming along nicely on the new web page layout: www.k2labs.com/kungfusion

Still have a *lot* of work to do, but there is some definite progress being made. 8-)

I'm toying with making some of the pages CGI-based with some Perl scripts, but really haven't made up my mind yet. I suppose as much as anything, I want to find a way to help keep it from turning into a cobweb page -- completely dead.

A lot of work to be done -- wine recipes to get typed up and turned into web pages; martial arts forms to get turned into web pages, plus some more that still have to be typed up, and *then* turned into pages; decisions on what things to include on my CV and in the Code Samples section; pressure point diagrams to get scanned and set up as web pages...

Sheesh, I'm making myself tired, here!

But I think once it's done, it will be something worth the effort I put into it. 8-)
