I had my first visit with the acupuncturist today, to see if there's anything they can do to help me get rid of my allergies and asthma. I feel like it went pretty well.

Why did I go? Among other reasons, because I've been noticing an increase in the difficulties I've been having with my asthma and allergies both, and the only response I've ever gotten from western medicine has been, "Here, use this pill/inhaler when you need it, and just put up with the side effects." So I can choose between sneezing my head off or being unable to stay awake, or I can choose between wheezing/coughing or having my heart race.

Screw that. Time (and past time) to try something different.

I'm going to try to keep notes on points, herbs, impressions, observations etc. for my own future reference. However, in order to avoid TMI, I'm locking those posts. If you actually want to see them, let me know and I'll add you to that list.

I'm interested - I keep thinking I should try that (for allergies and also they claim they can do some good for neck/shoulder pain), but haven't gotten around to it yet. Partly 'cause I'm not all that sure that it'll work on me. So I'd be interested in whether it does for you...

Depending on the cause of the neck/shoulder pain, you might actually get better results from a chiropractor.

As for allergies -- you've seen how bad mine can be, and they seem confident they can get rid of them.
